Family wish loud ties/shirts to reflect Paul’s character

Further to the earlier announcement of the passing of Paul Morse.

Paul was part of the BTP family for 28 years and is probably best remembered as a dog handler. He was well respected and liked by all those who worked with him. He was seen as a fountain of knowledge when it came to police dogs and was often contacted by younger serving officers from across the country for advice. He retired from BTP in September 2017 and his colleagues remember a man who was a real larger than life character.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Pauls funeral service will be held on Friday 27th August at 2pm. The service will take place at Thornhill Crematorium. I can be viewed online at

All non-uniformed female officers attending the funeral are asked to wear bright colours and male officers are asked to wear bright/colourful ties as a reflection of Pauls personality and a celebration of his life.

A book of condolence has been opened to share stories and tributes to Paul. All messages will be shared with the family and can be found at: -

In lieu of flowers, the family have asked that anyone wishing to donate to the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) can do so in Pauls memory at
